“Tokyo engagement photoshoot”, when these words came up in my email I was immediately pumped. Tokyo was a city I had not been to but had longed to visit, and the stars aligned and these guys were wanting to meet up during the time I was going to be over there. Everyone I spoke to who had been to Tokyo raved about it and let’s just say even after the city being hyped up, it still blew my mind and expectations. So take this insane, mind-blowing city and one cool Australian couple and mix them together and you know you are going to be in for an amazing time.
These two lovers, Chris and Juliette, are originally from Sydney Australia but decided to pack up try something new and exciting, and they ended up in the crazy city of Tokyo. Chris is a writer for titles such as The Japan Times, Time Out Tokyo, Tokyo Weekender Magazine and Juliette is in the fashion game, met over 10 years ago while both studying at Sydney Uni. After close to a decade of being together they got engaged while on a bit of whirlwind trip back home to Australia which was packed with weddings, birthdays and catch ups, it wasn’t until they got back to Tokyo that it all set in they were now happily engaged.
I don’t know who was more excited for this photoshoot, me or them. What they were thinking was a mix of quiet traditional alleys mixed in with some busy well known spots, as I had never been there before I took their lead and on my second day in Tokyo I was running all over the city with this creative couple. We adventured to deserted alleys, battled the crowds at the crazy Shibuya Crossings and even got our game on at a Japanese arcade, I really don’t know who was having more fun on this shoot, but who cares it was an awesome day and I’m stinging to get back there for another photoshoot.
