When I heard these two got engaged I was hoping I would get a call up to be the one to capture their big day. James (aka Jimmy) and Ellise are two of the nicest, most laid back people I know, and I knew that their wedding would be the perfect reflection of what these guys are all about – family, friends and having a hell of a good time, and what better place for it all to go down then with a beautiful South Coast NSW wedding!
So the plan was to have the ceremony out the back yard of a house in Coledale on Sydney’s south coast, the backyard was pretty much the beach, but unfortunately they weather gods didn’t agree with that plan and rained on and off all morning, so the ceremony was moved to the downstairs of the house with just their close friends and family.
After putting a dampener on the ceremony plans, the weather decided to play nice and the rain stopped when it was go time for bridal party photos. Straight out onto the rocks and the rock pools of Coledale, no rain but some moody grey clouds still lingered about and threatened for round two, but the guys braved the weather and we got some awesome shots. With the rain still holding off we ventured to spot two, a nearby bush that had been partially back burnt and provided a stunning backdrop for some more snaps. As were were finishing up, the rain turned up again.
The reception was a different scene to the ceremony, the 30 people from the ceremony had multiple into over 100+ of their best friends who were waiting with drink in hand to congratulate the new Mr and Mrs Pressley. The reception was one big party and a cracking one it was, complete with an amazing messy cake, some rainy outside photos, a mum and brother rap duo and hours of dance floor shenanigans.
It was great to see a couple pull off a wedding that was a perfect representation of themselves. Ellise and Jimmy, that was an awesome night!
